2025 Toyota Grand Highlander Now $2,460 Cheaper, Introduces Blacked-Out Nightshade Edition

With the addition of a new entry-level LE trim, the Grand Highlander is now more affordable than ever

While price increases are often expected, Toyota is pushing back with the 2025 Grand Highlander. A new entry-level LE trim reduces the starting price to $40,860, plus a $1,450 destination fee.

This marks a significant savings, as the 2024 lineup began with the $43,320 Grand Highlander XLE. Naturally, a few compromises were made to achieve the $2,460 price cut.

Fortunately, the model doesn’t come across as low-budget, offering a power liftgate and 18-inch alloy wheels, along with heated power mirrors featuring blind spot warning indicators.

Inside, the Grand Highlander seats eight with fabric upholstery and includes analog gauges paired with a 7-inch multi-information display. Additional features include a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a six-speaker audio system, and tri-zone climate control. An eight-way power driver’s seat and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 driver assistance suite round out the package.

The LE trim comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 265 hp (198 kW / 269 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, with optional all-wheel drive available for an additional $1,600.

For those interested in a hybrid option, a model starting at $44,210 is also available. It features a 2.5-liter engine, a small battery pack, and a rear-mounted motor for all-wheel drive. While output is reduced to 245 hp (183 kW / 248 PS), fuel economy significantly improves to 36 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 34 mpg combined.

True to its name, the Nightshade embraces a bold, dark look with a black hood, bumpers, and 20-inch wheels, along with a black spoiler, mirror caps, and door handles, among other details.

The dark theme carries over into the interior, featuring black leather seats and matte gray metallic accents. Additional highlights include heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row captain’s chairs, and an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system, along with a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
