2026 ZR1 Corvette offers optional 10-piston calipers

Choosing the ZTK package includes high-performance brakes with 10 pistons in the front and six in the rear, paired with carbon-ceramic rotors

The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette lineup has arrived, featuring significant updates, including a completely redesigned interior that replaces the much-debated “button wall” with a more conventional setup, and the introduction of a potent 1,064-horsepower ZR1 model. Beyond these major changes, another notable addition is the availability of optional 10-piston brake calipers.

Chevrolet’s announcement detailing the 2026 Corvette’s enhancements mentions the ZTK Track Performance package specifically for the ZR1, highlighting its braking system. This package, in addition to a firmer suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, includes massive Alcon-sourced brake calipers: 10-piston units at the front and six-piston units at the rear.

These calipers are paired with carbon-ceramic rotors on all four wheels. According to Chevrolet, this combination represents the largest brake setup ever offered on a production Corvette. While the exact dimensions of the rotors haven’t been disclosed, they are undoubtedly larger than those paired with the standard ZR1’s six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers.

However, equipping your ZR1 with this high-performance 10-piston brake system won’t be inexpensive. The ZTK package itself costs $1,500, but it also necessitates opting for the ZR1 Carbon Fiber Aero package, an additional $8,495. Consequently, buyers will need to spend nearly $10,000 extra to get the upgraded brake kit.

Considering the realm of 1,000-horsepower supercars, this additional cost is still relatively reasonable. Even with both the ZTK and Carbon Fiber Aero packages, the ZR1’s price remains under $190,000, significantly less than comparable offerings from Ferrari or Lamborghini, solidifying the Corvette’s position as a high-performance value.

Chevrolet joins a select group of manufacturers utilizing 10-piston calipers on their top-tier performance vehicles. Brands like Audi, Bentley, and Porsche already employ 10-piston brakes with carbon-ceramic rotors on models such as the RS6 Avant, Continental GT Speed, and 911 Turbo S.
