A Ferrari Testarossa 6×6 Is Being Built, and We Have Questions

It was recently seen on a trailer in Texas, and we have a good idea of who’s behind it

By definition, a true 6×6 is a six-wheeled vehicle with all axles powered. However, we’re skeptical that this wild Ferrari Testarossa has power going to the front wheels. We also aren’t sure if all four rear wheels are driven. For simplicity—and because it sounds incredibly cool—we’ll call this outrageous creation a 6×6 Testarossa.

So, what’s really happening here? We wish we had more details, but what you see is what you get. Hvber.Media on Instagram spotted this custom Ferrari on a flatbed trailer in Dallas, Texas. It appears to be a work-in-progress: the front fenders are missing, the flat 12 engine is exposed (assuming it even has one), and an unfinished massive diffuser is mounted at the rear.

There’s no official information yet, but we’re fairly confident that Dallas-based Gas Monkey Garage is involved. In addition to the sighting in Dallas, Gas Monkey’s owner, Richard Rawlings, purchased five Testarossas last year, all of which were used as movie cars for the film Infinite. Since they were movie cars, some were in rough condition, and all had been modified to some degree. If you’re planning to build a wild six-wheeled Testarossa, starting with a collection of worn-out ex-movie cars makes perfect sense.

If that’s not convincing enough, the tow vehicle in the Instagram video—a black and silver Ram pickup hauling a three-axle flatbed with custom wheels—looks identical to the one spotted this morning on the Gas Monkey Garage live camera outside their shop.

For one final piece of evidence, the Gas Monkey team has already created a wild custom Testarossa from this collection. Last year, they showcased a roofless, three-seater EV called “Testa” at SEMA. Could this six-wheeler be their next Ferrari SEMA project? Time will tell.

We’ve reached out to Gas Monkey Garage for confirmation and are keeping an eye out for more details in the meantime.
