Final figures released on Sunday, April 6 (Bangkok time), confirmed that Chinese electric vehicle (EV) giant BYD led the sales tally, narrowly overtaking longtime market leader Toyota.

  • BYD: 9,819 units (excluding Denza)

  • GAC: 7,018 units
  • Deepal: 6,067 units
  • Honda: 5,948 units

BYD Steals the Spotlight Amid Booking Boom

According to Jaturont Komolmis, vice chairman of the event, the 2025 edition attracted 1.6 million visitors, with total vehicle reservations across all segments reaching nearly 80,000 units.

Notably, electrified vehicles (xEVs) made up over 65% of total bookings, reflecting a clear shift in consumer preference. SUVs dominated this category, while traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles accounted for the remaining 35%.

The surge in bookings is credited to several factors — a wide range of new model launches, attractive promotional campaigns from automakers, and continued government incentives. Together, these elements significantly boosted consumer confidence and sparked buying interest after a sluggish market in previous months.

“This year’s show was a resounding success in every aspect,” said Jaturont. “We saw growth not just in vehicle bookings, but also in the number of participating car and motorcycle brands, as well as other automotive businesses. The lively atmosphere truly resonated with visitors and exhibitors alike.”
