Those glowing wheels, gullwing doors, and steering-wheel display on the Elevated Velocity aren’t as far-fetched as they seem

Cadillac’s newest concept, the Elevated Velocity, is a bold glimpse into the brand’s possible future—an even wilder vision than last year’s Opulent Velocity. This sleek, high-riding electric SUV builds on its predecessor’s ideas, imagining a world where autonomous tech and hands-on high-performance driving coexist, all wrapped in a V-Series off-road look.

The automaker is tight-lipped about performance specs, only confirming it’s electric with an active air suspension. Instead, the focus is on design and technology—especially inside. The cabin is drenched in shades of red leather and boucle fabric, ditching traditional screens in favor of innovations like a steering-wheel display, an evolution from the Opulent Velocity’s design, which Cadillac is developing with its engineering partners.

Some features lean into sci-fi territory: infrared lighting for rejuvenation, dust-repelling vibrations to keep the SUV clean, and systems to purify the air, balance humidity, and adapt to altitude and temperature changes. There’s even a secure compartment and a handcrafted polo set.

Exterior styling pushes the limits, but certain cues—like the infinity taillight accent and fin-like rear light blades—could influence future production models. The gullwing doors maximize entry and exit, while 24-inch illuminated wheels are reportedly close to production reality.
Driving modes blend autonomy and performance: Elevate Mode handles everything with retractable controls, Velocity Mode puts the driver fully in charge, E-Velocity Mode sharpens on-road performance, and Terra Mode optimizes off-road handling.

Although fully functional, the Elevated Velocity remains a rolling testbed, shaping Cadillac’s vision of a luxurious, electric, and tech-forward future. It will debut publicly on August 15 at The Quail during Monterey Car Week.
