Ford Focus ST Heads Into Retirement

Orders are no longer being accepted, but around 170 units remain available at dealerships

Earlier this year, Ford confirmed it would end Focus production in Europe this November—including the beloved Focus ST. As one of the last hot hatchbacks still offered with a manual transmission, the ST’s days are numbered, and the window to get one is closing fast. In fact, Ford has already closed the order books for ST models in the United Kingdom.

“There are no new factory orders available for the Focus ST at the moment,” a Ford UK spokesperson told Autocar. While that leaves a sliver of possibility that ordering could reopen before production officially ends in six months, the reality is clear: both the Focus and Focus ST will be gone by year’s end, with no direct replacement on the horizon.

That said, you can still get your hands on one—just not by ordering it. Ford told Autocar there are around 170 Focus STs still available across its UK dealer network. A know automotive media reached out to Ford to find out if ST models remain available for order in other parts of Europe and will update the story when they hear back.

The Focus ST’s departure continues a trend for Ford, which has been phasing out its sedans and hatchbacks over the past few years. Mondeo production (known as the Fusion in the U.S.) ended in 2022, two years after it was dropped from American dealerships. The Fiesta was discontinued in 2023. Now, it’s the Focus’s turn to leave the lineup—taking the driver-focused ST version with it.
