Ford Issues Four Recalls Covering Nearly 400,000 Vehicles in a Single Day

Whether you’re behind the wheel of a hefty F750 or a compact Fiesta, it might be time for a quick visit to the dealer for a checkup

Ford had a busy week on the recall front, issuing four separate recalls that impact a total of 394,466 vehicles. These recalls address a variety of unrelated issues across both Ford and Lincoln models, so if you’re driving one of their vehicles, it might be time for a dealership visit. Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening:

Diesel Troubles: Super Duty Trucks

The largest recall in this batch targets 295,449 diesel-powered Super Duty trucks. The issue? High-pressure fuel pumps are prone to failure due to biodiesel deposits building up on the pump’s drivetrain roller components. If left unchecked, this buildup could lead to pump failure.

The affected models include:

  • F250, F350, F450, F550, and F600 (2020-2022 model years)
  • F650 and F750 (2021-2022 model years)

To resolve the issue, Ford will update the powertrain control module software at no cost to owners. Simply visit your nearest dealership for the fix.

Windows, Cameras, and Batteries

The remaining recalls may be smaller in scale, but they’re still significant:

Lincoln Nautilus: Window Safety

Ford is recalling 47,818 units of the 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus due to a potential failure in the automatic window reversal system. This system is designed to stop the window when it detects an obstruction, but a calibration issue could prevent it from functioning properly. The solution involves recalibrating the door modules for the driver and passenger sides, which will be done free of charge.

Rearview Camera Malfunctions

Next, 30,715 units of the 2019 Ford Flex, Fiesta, and Lincoln MKT are being recalled because their rearview cameras may display a blank or distorted screen. While Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are still working on a definitive solution, affected owners will be notified once a fix is available. In the meantime, you might want to sharpen your manual parking skills.

High-Voltage Battery Issues

Finally, 20,484 units of the 2020-2024 Ford Escape and 2021-2024 Lincoln Corsair are facing potential battery problems. A manufacturing defect in the high-voltage battery cells could cause an internal short circuit, leading to battery failure. Depending on the case, Ford will either update the battery energy control module software or replace the battery pack entirely—all at no cost to the owner.

What Should You Do?

If you own any of the models mentioned, expect to receive a notification from Ford soon with instructions on how to schedule your repair. All fixes will be performed free of charge. For now, keep an eye on your mailbox or email inbox for updates, and avoid delaying any necessary visits to the dealership.
