Isuzu’s Latest Electric Pickup Comes With an Eye-Opening Price Tag

According to the company, the D-Max EV is Europe’s first production electric pickup designed for full commercial duties

Isuzu has confirmed UK pricing for the upcoming D-Max EV ahead of its first customer deliveries in February 2026. This story now includes updated details on pricing, availability, and specifications.

Isuzu is entering the electric pickup market with a familiar face powered by an all-new electric drivetrain. The production version of the fully electric D-Max has been officially unveiled and is set to reach European roads in early 2026.

While the design remains largely unchanged from its diesel counterpart, the D-Max EV delivers zero-emissions capability without sacrificing the rugged practicality that has made it popular with both fleet and private buyers. For those looking to ditch diesel while keeping serious payload capacity, this new model will be worth a look.

Claiming the title of Europe’s first production electric pickup with full commercial capability, the D-Max EV will go up against rivals like the forthcoming electric Toyota Hilux.

Visually, the EV is nearly identical to the diesel model, skipping the concept’s closed-off grille in favor of minor updates like EV-specific badging, blue accents, and no exhaust outlets. The charging port is positioned where the fuel cap used to be, preserving familiarity for existing owners.

Buyers can choose between two trims (eDL40 and eV-Cross), with Extended Cab and Double Cab body styles available. Colors include Splash White, Mercury Silver Metallic, Obsidian Grey Mica, Onyx Black Mica, Biarritz Blue Metallic, and a Dolomite White Pearl exclusive to the V-Cross. For its debut, Isuzu showed off a one-off Norwegian Blue paint with black accents and 18-inch alloys.

Dual Motors, 4WD, and Commercial Credentials

Power comes from dual electric motors producing 188 hp (140 kW / 190 PS) and 325 Nm (240 lb-ft) of torque — 27 hp more than the diesel model but 35 Nm less torque. A full-time 4WD system and Rough Terrain Mode carry over from the diesel version.

Performance includes 0-62 mph in 10.1 seconds and a top speed just over 80 mph (129 km/h). Crucially for commercial users, payload tops 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs) and towing reaches 3.5 tonnes (7,716 lbs). Off-road stats include a 600 mm (23.6 in) wading depth and 210 mm (8.3 in) ground clearance.

Battery, Range, and Charging

A 66.9 kWh battery delivers a WLTP range of 263 km (163 miles) — modest by EV standards but typical for midsize pickups. DC fast charging at up to 50 kW enables a 20-80% recharge in about an hour. The battery is backed by an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty.

The electric D-Max uses a modified ladder-frame chassis with a De-Dion rear suspension replacing the leaf springs for improved ride quality.

Pricing & Availability

The D-Max EV made its global debut at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham on April 29. UK pre-orders opened July 21, with deliveries set for February 2026.
