Jeep to Introduce Additional V8 Models in Hemi Push

The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is here to stay, with a possible SRT version on the horizon

In 2024, Jeep introduced the Wrangler 392 Final Edition as a supposed farewell to the Hemi. But “final” didn’t last long — the model returned for 2025 due to strong demand.

Now, Jeep is shifting gears entirely. Speaking at a Detroit media event, CEO Bob Broderdorf confirmed the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 will remain in the lineup. That’s welcome news for Wrangler fans, as the 470-hp, 470 lb-ft engine rockets the SUV from 0–60 mph in 4.5 seconds and through the quarter mile in 13 seconds.

Even better, Broderdorf revealed more V8 models are on the way. With SRT’s return, there’s speculation about a new Grand Cherokee SRT8 or Trackhawk, and even a 5.7-liter Hemi comeback for the Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L.

While the V8 stays, Jeep is also exploring other powertrains. A teaser for the 2026 Grand Wagoneer hints at a range-extended setup, and the brand has confirmed plans for a hybrid Cherokee and plug-in hybrid Gladiator 4xe. Broderdorf called powertrains the “heart and soul” of vehicles, noting they’ve already brought in new customers with hits like the Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe.

On the customization front, both the Wrangler and Gladiator will soon offer more personalization options — from bigger tires to uniquely painted components such as fender flares — letting Jeep tap further into the lucrative aftermarket scene.
