Meet Mahindra’s Batman-Inspired SUV—Yes, They’re Serious

With the BE 6 Batman Edition, Mahindra may unleash your inner Dark Knight

If you thought the Mahindra BE 6 had a hint of Batmobile flair, you weren’t imagining it. The company has officially revealed a Batman Edition of its EV, marketed as “the world’s first commercially available Batman-inspired SUV.” Production will be limited to 300 units, sold exclusively in India.

Developed in partnership with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products—similar to last year’s Pininfarina tie-ups—this special edition brings Gotham-inspired styling to a more accessible electric SUV rather than a six-figure luxury model.

While Robert Pattinson currently wears the cape on the big screen, the BE 6 Batman Edition looks back to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, channeling Christian Bale’s era of the Caped Crusader.

Gotham-Inspired Details

The SUV wears a stealthy Satin Black finish with gloss black accents, highlighted by a Batman decal on the doors and a gold bat emblem on the fenders. Matching gold details extend to the springs, brake calipers, and 20-inch alloys. Bat symbols also appear on the hubcaps, bumper, windows, and even the puddle lights—projecting a Bat Signal onto the pavement. A special illuminated emblem decorates the Infinity Roof.

Inside, the cabin features black suede and leather trimmed with gold accents. Bat silhouettes cover the seats, dashboard, and digital cockpit graphics, while a numbered “Brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition” plaque on the center console marks its exclusivity.

Power and Price

Based on the BE 6’s most powerful trim, the Batman Edition delivers 282 hp from a single rear-mounted motor and offers 550 km (342 miles) of WLTP range from its 79 kWh battery. To complete the theme, Mahindra even gave it Batman-inspired exterior sounds.

Pricing starts at ₹27.79 lakh (≈$27,200)—just $1,000 more than the standard model—making it one of the most affordable ways to channel your inner Bruce Wayne. Orders open August 23, with first deliveries set for International Batman Day, September 20.
