Ram TRX Makes Its Official Comeback

Fans of the V-8-powered supertruck could see it return to production as early as January

Ram’s V-8 supertruck is making its long-awaited return. Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa confirmed the TRX revival during the company’s Q2 earnings call, highlighting its strong profit potential.

“The V-8 engine on versions, such as the Ram 1500 TRX, will deliver to us additional volumes but also accredited margins per unit,” Filosa told shareholders, according to Mopar Insiders.

While he didn’t give a production date, Mopar Insiders reports that the TRX could reach dealerships as early as January 2026—a claim that holds weight since the outlet accurately predicted the truck’s comeback back in March.

No official specs have been revealed, but history offers clues. The last TRX packed a 702-hp, 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V-8, and with Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis also leading SRT, a new forced-induction V-8 seems likely. Expect a power bump to one-up the 720-hp Ford Raptor R, along with the same rugged, off-road-ready design.

The TRX revival is part of Ram’s broader return to V-8s, with the Hemi confirmed for the 2026 Ram 1500 and 25 new products promised in the next 18 months. With fuel economy rules currently relaxed, Ram and Dodge are free to fully embrace their eight-cylinder legacy.
