Suzuki’s Compact SUV Gets Classic Off-Roader Looks with New Bodykit

Suzuki’s five-door SUV gets a nostalgic makeover with Cal’s Motors’ Beas+ L kit, channeling the classic Chevy K5 Blazer

It feels like a new Suzuki Jimny bodykit drops every week—and somehow, each one brings a fresh twist. The latest comes from Cal’s Motors, a sub-brand of Japanese tuner Alpine Style, transforming the five-door Jimny (sold as the Nomade in Japan) into a vintage-inspired adventure rig called the Beas+ L.

Building on the success of previous Beas and Beas+ kits for the three-door Jimny and Jimny Sierra, this new version brings the same nostalgic styling to a roomier platform. The star of the show is the front-end redesign: a chrome grille with rectangular LED headlights, separate indicators, a retro chrome bumper, and Cal’s Motors lettering replacing the Suzuki badge—all channeling the vibe of a classic Chevy K5 Blazer.

Out back, the stock rectangular taillights are swapped for round LED units housed in a custom chrome bumper. Optional add-ons include Moon Chrome wheels with all-terrain tires and a new spare tire cover.

The interior also gets some attention, with optional leather-style seat covers, branded floor mats, a 7-inch Alpine touchscreen, upgraded audio, and a digital rearview mirror. The example shown is finished in Orca Black Pearl 2, though more color choices are expected.

Mechanically, it’s unchanged: the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 103 hp and 134 Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic, and backed by a capable 4WD system. A suspension lift kit is available to boost off-road ability and stance.

Pricing for a full Beas+ L conversion starts at ¥3,740,000 (around $25,200), compared to ¥2,651,000 ($17,900) for a stock Jimny Nomade. But with high demand in Japan, sourcing a donor vehicle can be tricky. For something smaller, the three-door Beas+ starts from ¥3,080,000 ($20,700) and offers similar styling in a more compact package.
