Tesla Cybertruck Hailed as June’s Top-Selling Model Over $100,000.

In June, the average transaction price for new vehicles in the U.S. stood at $48,644.

The Tesla Cybertruck sparked intense enthusiasm among EV enthusiasts, quickly becoming a coveted vehicle among celebrities and social media influencers. For a time, Cybertrucks were being resold for more than double their MSRP. Demand remains robust, as recent sales data indicates.

New reports show strong sales for the Cybertruck, with Kelley Blue Book estimating over 3,200 units sold in June. This performance positions the electric truck as the top-selling new vehicle priced over $100,000 for the month, with each Cybertruck commanding an average transaction price (ATP) of $112,696.

Tesla has not disclosed exact sales figures for the Cybertruck this year; instead, these figures are estimates. In its Q2 report, the automaker indicated it produced 386,576 units of the Model 3 and Model Y, achieving a total of 422,405 deliveries across all models. Vehicles such as the Model S, Model X, Cybertruck, and Semi were categorized as ‘Other Models,’ amounting to 24,255 units produced and 21,551 delivered last quarter. The specific count of Cybertrucks within these totals has not been disclosed.

Cox Automotive’s analysis points out that thanks to the Cybertruck, the average transaction price for new Tesla models saw a notable increase from $56,809 in May to $58,399 in June, marking a 2.8% monthly rise and a 5.7% increase year-over-year.

What’s even more intriguing is that Tesla’s average transaction prices have risen more over the past year than those of any other brand.

Apart from Tesla, Chrysler experienced the highest increase in average transaction price (ATP) from June 2023, rising by 5.5%. Other notable increases were reported by Toyota and Porsche, each seeing a 5% uptick, while Lexus recorded a 4% increase and Mazda saw a 3.8% rise.

In June, the average price paid for electric vehicles (EVs) reached $56,371, marking a 0.9% increase from May but a 2.5% decrease compared to June 2023. Overall, the ATP for all new vehicles in the U.S., regardless of powertrain, stood at $48,644 in June.
