The first 2025 Corvette ZR1 off the production line sold for $3.7 million.

Unsurprisingly, Rick Hendrick was the buyer.

Update: As expected, Corvette enthusiast Rick Hendrick shelled out big money for the first production 2025 ZR1, winning the auction with a $3.7 million bid—just edging out the $3.6 million he paid for the first C8 Z06. All proceeds go to the American Red Cross.

In a now-familiar Chevrolet and Barrett-Jackson tradition, the first 2025 Corvette ZR1 slated for retail production was auctioned for charity at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event (January 18-26).

Technically, the car at auction was just a placeholder, as ZR1 production hasn’t started yet. The winning bidder secured the right to spec the first unit to their liking. And let’s be honest—Hendrick was always the likely buyer.

With a vast collection of first-production Corvettes, Hendrick has secured VIN 001 for the C8, Z06, Z06 convertible, and E-Ray, each fetching over $1 million. His $3.6 million Z06 purchase was the priciest—until now. As always, Chevrolet is donating the full amount to charity, this time benefiting the American Red Cross.

There’s a good chance this auction could surpass even the Z06. The 2025 ZR1 is the fastest, most powerful Corvette ever, hitting 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 233 mph. Chevrolet has been testing it at the Nürburgring, with lap times yet to be revealed. Ford recently broke the 7-minute barrier with the Mustang GTD, but with 1,064 horsepower and aggressive aerodynamics, many believe the ZR1 could do even better.
