Kuniskis faces big challenges, including falling sales and the delayed launch of the Ram 1500 REV
Stellantis is undergoing major changes following Carlos Tavares’ departure, and one of their most notable executives is reportedly returning. That executive is Tim Kuniskis, widely recognized as the face of Dodge and its high-performance strategy.
This move comes as a surprise since Kuniskis retired as CEO of Dodge and Ram on June 1, concluding an almost 32-year career with the company. His retirement seemed well-timed as Dodge was wrapping up the HEMI era.
Tim Kuniskis is reportedly returning to lead Ram, according to two sources who spoke with CNBC. While Stellantis has yet to make an official announcement, the company confirmed the move in an email, stating, “Today’s changes will enable us to operate in a structure that will drive the best outcomes for the region, unlock significant potential, and win in the market. A key factor is for the Ram brand to have its CEO singularly focused on that brand.”
With Kuniskis set to take the helm, current Ram CEO Chris Feuell will transition to new roles. Alongside leading Chrysler, she will reportedly take charge of Alfa Romeo in North America as Larry Dominique departs.
Kuniskis’ return comes at a challenging time for Ram. Sales were down 19% in the third quarter and 24% for the year through September. Adding to the challenges, the company recently announced delays for the Ram 1500 REV and Ramcharger, pushing their launches to 2025.
