Toyota Introduces Subtle Updates for the 2025 Corolla in Europe

Toyota has not yet revealed pricing details for the updated Corolla in Europe.

The 12th-generation Toyota Corolla has received a mild refresh for the 2025 model year in Europe. While the updates are relatively modest, they do introduce minor tweaks to the car’s exterior design and interior. Sales are set to begin later this month, though Toyota has yet to announce region-specific pricing.

As before, the Corolla will continue to be offered in Hatchback, Sedan, and Touring Sports body styles, with a choice of 10 exterior paint colors. Joining the palette is a new shade called Metal Oxide, a deep red hue that comes exclusively with a contrasting gloss black roof on the Hatchback and Touring Sports models.

Meanwhile, the Sedan variant can be specified with either a body-colored or contrasting black roof.

Another small but noticeable change is the shift to gloss black mirror caps across all variants, replacing the previous color-matched ones. Additionally, the Mid+ grade models now come equipped with stylish 17-inch alloy wheels featuring a silver and machined black finish, along with star-shaped center caps for a more distinctive look.

Modest Interior Changes

Inside, the updates are equally subtle. Similar to the latest CH-R, the 2025 Corolla now features a synthetic leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob as standard. For Hatchback and Touring Sports models in the Mid+ trim, customers also have the option of new recycled fabric upholstery, which Toyota claims is both “pleasant to the touch” and “highly durable.”

No Mechanical Changes Under the Hood

Toyota has not announced any changes to the Corolla’s powertrain lineup, meaning the familiar hybrid options are expected to carry over. This includes the 1.8-liter hybrid engine producing 138 hp and the more powerful 2.0-liter hybrid generating 193 hp.

On the safety front, Toyota continues to equip all Corolla models with the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense, ensuring a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features comes standard.

As the refreshed Corolla arrives in European showrooms, the question now is whether these minor enhancements will be enough to keep the popular compact model competitive in an evolving market. Pricing details for each market are still pending.
