Now’s the perfect chance to finally get your hands on a new Z06

Not long ago, the Chevy Corvette Z06 was one of the hottest cars on the market. Just two years back, eager buyers were fighting for build slots and willingly paying hefty markups. Fast forward to today, and the tide has turned—Z06s are stacking up on dealer lots, many now listed at MSRP or even below. If you’ve been holding out for a track-ready Corvette, this could be your best shot.
According to a known automotive media Chevrolet’s inventory tracker currently shows 1,702 new Z06s available nationwide—1,001 coupes and 700 convertibles. That makes it the most common Corvette variant sitting on lots right now, even outnumbering base Stingrays (1,092 units) and E-Rays (873 units). So if you spot a new C8 in the wild, odds are it’s a Z06.

Why the sudden surplus? Corvette Blogger points to several factors: early dealer markups likely scared off buyers, many of whom waited for prices to drop. Then there’s the recently announced mid-cycle refresh for the C8, which introduces interior updates and new colors—none of which are included in the current 2024 or 2025 Z06 inventory. These cars still feature the divisive “button wall” layout, which may also be deterring interest.
Another reason? Future models. With the upcoming ZR1 and ZR1X on the horizon—offering 1,064 hp and up to 1,250 hp, respectively—the once-dominant 670-hp Z06 is no longer the top performer in the Corvette lineup.

Z06 Pricing: A Buyer’s Market
Chevy’s listings reveal most new Z06s are priced at or below MSRP. The lowest-priced example, a Riptide Blue 1LZ coupe, is listed at $107,464—roughly $12,000 off sticker. Ten other Z06s can be had for under $110,000, a far cry from the $100,000 markups seen when the car first launched.
Those looking for the high-performance Z07 package, which adds upgraded brakes, stickier tires, and enhanced aerodynamics, won’t have to spend much more. The cheapest Z07-equipped Z06 is currently offered at $125,790—also $12,000 below MSRP. In total, eight Z07 models are listed for under $140,000.
Regardless of the trim, the Z06 continues to offer exceptional value. Compared to its closest rival, the Porsche 911 GT3—which starts at $224,495 before markups—the Corvette’s performance-per-dollar is still unmatched. That’s been the Corvette’s formula for decades, and even as the numbers rise, the philosophy remains the same.
